Nefermose This album is a beautiful example of the enriching contributions of cultures, histories and mythologies that expand the territory of dungeon synth - both aesthetically and tonally, with a fresh, experimental edge from start to finish. Favorite track: Muguri din leșuri.

sjöhäxan There is something truly remarkable about this album, and I'm having a hard time putting it to words. I feel peace and a heavy depth of memory, especially in tracks like Cer si Pamant, and dreary, dark recollections from Mormant uitat. The inspiration and descriptions of each track are definitely worth reading, as the artist has put so much time and love into the concept behind their musical choices, which feel very well-represented. Favorite track: Cer și Pământ.

bmurator Romaninan Experimental Ambient / Dungeon Synth. All the comments so far spot on! I thoroughly enjoyed this musical journey. It is very simple music in many ways but nevertheless it is never boring in any way & flows beautifully! Recommended! Favorite track: Muguri din leșuri.

Johan Caught between calm, mysterious soundscapes, I entered this realm of myths completely and with ease. I enjoyed the differences between the four meditative songs, the exotic touch of Muguri din lesuri being my favorite song. Remarkable is the use of atmospheric noise like rain, something I love in music, may it be listening or creating. A gem indeed! Favorite track: Muguri din leșuri.

heinmiller I enjoyed my journey through the realm of history, myths and superstition! Fantastic atmosphere and production. I listened to this for the first time with headphones on an autumn afternoon in my backyard! It was hard to tell if the sounds were from the record or my environment! I look forward to hearing more from this artist! Much love to Romania from Kentucky! - Christopher Heinmiller Favorite track: Muguri din leșuri.

about

Welcome to a realm of history, myths and superstition.
This album is inspired by the long struggle of Romanian people, fighting to keep their culture ,religion and tradition while also absorbing much from the ones that crossed the lands as friend or foe.
Pământ means many things in Romanian . The album title refers to ''land'' , and hints to living on the native land and being connected to its history. It also stands for ''soil'', ''ground'' and becoming part of it after death.

1.Cer si Pamant (Heaven and Earth)-This piece is inspired by transhumance, the seasonal movement of livestock between fixed pastures for summer and winter and the modest and harsh life of people who practiced it.
A shepherd finds his end in the mountains and people from the villages are called to prayer by the Semantron, religious percussion instrument used in Orthodox rituals. The Semantron connects the Heavens and the Earth .

2.Muguri din lesuri ( Flower buds out of carcasses ) -There's an old saying in Romania , that the enemies who dare to invade the land will only make it more fertile with their blood.
This track hints back to the times after the fall of Constantinople and the Ottoman expansion.

3.Sultanul durerii ( The Sultan of Pain ) - Inspired by tales about Vlad the Impaler , his torture methods, scare tactics and controversial personality .Vlad and his brother Radu were hostages to the Ottoman Sultan Murad II , to secure their father's ( Vlad II Dracul ) loyalty.
Here they both learned the Turkish language and customs and their lives were spared even know their father revolted against the Sultan. But Vlad grew up with a deep hatred for the Ottomans and would use everything he learned against them.To this day , he is considered a national hero by many and a cruel ,sadistic ruler by others.

4.Mormant uitat (Forgotten grave) An old grave with a simple wooden cross that barely stood the test of time , someone who has sacrificed a lot for their family ,yet was buried and forgotten by the loved ones.

5.Șobolani în leagăn (Rats in the cradle)
A Moldavian family and their newborn are living a hopeful life before the devastating famine of 1946-1947 hits.

6.Șoilomânari spintec vazduh ( Riding dragon wizards split the skies )
Șoilomânari were Romanian wizards and healers, that legend says, had the power to ride dragons (balauri) and control the weather, causing rain, thunder, or hailstorm or chasing away bad weather from the villages.

7.Marea Neagră (The Black Sea)
A fisherman takes his son fishing for the first time, early in the morning. The young boy dreams of undiscovered places, adventures and the universe that hides beneath their boat. He can taste the salt in the air and the summer breeze carries ancient stories of distant lands.

These audio ''stories'' are not aiming for any historical accuracy , rather trying to convey the unique atmosphere of a land that was influenced by so many cultures , but also preserved its own.
